Creating Templates
Create reusable message templates for quick, consistent communication.
Creating a template
- Go to Templates from the main navigation
- Click Create Template
- Fill in the template details:
- Name — A descriptive name for the template
- Description — Optional notes about the template
- Source — Local (Qwetty-only) or Meta (submitted for WhatsApp approval)
- Type — Text, Image, Video, or Document
- Content — The message body
- Enabled — Toggle whether the template is available for use
- For Meta templates, you'll also set:
- Language — Template language
- Category — Utility, Marketing, or Authentication
- Header and Footer — Optional structural elements
- Buttons — URL, phone number, or quick reply buttons
- Body examples — Sample values for each variable, required by Meta for review
- Save the template
Variable placeholders
Use numbered variables in your template content to personalize messages. Qwetty only recognizes the {{1}}, {{2}}, … format:

When using the template in the inbox, you'll be prompted to fill in the value for each numbered variable.
Editing templates
- Go to Templates
- Click on a template to edit
- Update the content and save
For Meta templates, the current approval status is shown while editing, and saving changes re-submits the template to Meta.
Deleting templates
From the Templates list, open the row's action menu and choose Delete. You can also select multiple templates with the checkboxes to delete them in bulk.
